TelevisionThe majority of Brazilian television is in Portuguese with programmes in other languages dubbed and not subtitled. Cinemas almost always show imported films subtitled and not dubbed. Satellite television is not widely available in Brazil, however, most developed urban areas will have access to cable TV. Many imported programmes on cable offer a choice of viewing languages including English.
Radio on the InternetMany international radio stations are available streamed live on the Internet. Typically Realplayer or Windows Media Player will be needed. Both can be downloaded.

Print MediaMagazines and newspapers can be bought at padarias (bakers shops, which, in Brazil, sell a wide variety of products including cigarettes, confectionary, DVDs, soft drinks and beer, as well as bread and cakes), book stores and most traditionally, at bancas which are newsagents set up in small, steel huts on the pavement. BancasAll bancas sell a majority of Portuguese language magazines, newspapers and books; some specialise in foreign language publications. There are a few which are well-known for this service and most of them are located on Avenida Paulista, São Paulo's main Avenue for both business and culture. English-language magazines often available are Vogue, Business Week, Elle, Marie-Claire House and Garden, Vanity Fair and Bop. Main bancas in São Paulo:
Book storesThere are a number of book store chains around the city of São Paulo that stock a wide variety of foreign language magazines. Livraria Cultura and the French chain FNAC sell many major titles from Europe and the United States. Livraria Cultura also offers an impressive range of foreign language books, with the majority in English.
