Blessings to you on this holiday as well Maria. Don't eat too much chocolate!

We had our first Easter in Sao Paulo, went and heard some wonderful music and had a great lunch - chocolate is safe as we are just now beginning to enjoy a few pieces! Can't say there will be any remaining!

Chaf Sameach all
I am moving to Sao Paulo, am hoping to live and rent in the Jewish district...wherever that might be?

I don't propose to label any communities as being one nationality or religion but it has been said that Higienópolis is very multi-cultural, so perhaps that is what you will find in SP.

You might want to chat with members of several Synagogues before you put down your doormat.

I agree with Robert. If being around a certain group of people is more comfortable, you may have to research a bit by speaking with those you'd like to be closest to.

Rosa, many decades ago Bom Retiro was our Jewish district. That was near the place my grandmother settled when she moved from Poland in early 1900's. Nowadays this area has also received a great number of families from China, Corea and Bolivia.

Higienópolis, and a little bit of Santa Cecília and Pacaembu, have a huge Jewish community nowadays and the second section in number of members is located in Jardins, if I am not mistaken. Hebraica and Maca, the clubs, are in Cidade Jardim and Cantareira, and the hospital, Albert Einstein, is in Morumbi.

I hope I have helped.
