HiI have recently arrived in Sao Paulo and I'm trying to do various things including the following:
Find an apartment
Find furniture (preferably second hand) to fully furnish the apartment
Find a variety of baby things (new or almost new), such as a high chair, baby walker, buggy, cot, car seat, etc.
Register with the authorities here (I believe I can get residency in around 12 months) since my son was born here
Open a bank account
I only have a few words of Portuguese (although I'm learning fast) so I'm finding all of the above quite a challenge at the moment. The family I'm currently staying with have been very good and helpful but they are working long hours during the week and therefore only have limited time to help at weekend.
Any assistance or advice that anyone maybe able to offer would be greatly appreciated. If there is anyone out there who speaks Portuguese and or knows Sao Paulo who could spare some time to lend a hand that would be great.
Alternatively, if anyone knows of any language schools where a Brazilian student of English may want to practice their English......
Obviously I would pay all travel expenses and buy lunch.
As an after thought, if anyone wanted to show me any sights, show me around a bit generally, recommend any night life, that would also be good but I need to get the above things sorted first.
I'm English, 36 years old, sociable but easy going.
Thanks in anticipation.
Seb.
