General Rules of AngloINFO Discussions

AngloINFO Discussions, just one of AngloINFO São Paulo's many services, allow the site's users to support each other by asking and answering questions about life in the region.

You do not need to be a registered member to view postings in the Discussions but you are required to register or login if you wish to make a posting. By registering, you agree to follow AngloINFO's Terms of Use.

In order to make this a useful and supportive place for as many of our users as possible we ask our members to comply with a set of basic guidelines as follows:

Posting Style and Format
  • Please always be sure to post your thread in the right category. If we think your thread belongs in another category we may move it. Duplicate posts in multiple categories are not permitted.

  • Give threads subject titles which are clear and concise – it helps people to know what is being discussed
  • Avoid use of excessive punctuation, capital letters (SHOUTING) or inappropriate language
  • Replies to a posting should always follow the original topic.  If you want to discuss something else, please start a new thread (off-topic posts will be removed).
  • Repeated/duplicate Discussions will be removed.

  • Postings should be local and relevant to the AngloINFO São Paulo region.  If you want to discuss a non-local topic with your fellow AngloINFO São Paulo members please use the Non-local category.
  • Hate speech, aggression or intolerance, racist remarks, and vulgarity are not permitted
  • Postings must not breach any local or international laws
  • Pornographic or sexual comments are not accepted

  • Postings which defame an individual or organisation are not acceptable and will be removed.
  • AngloINFO Discussions must not be used for any form of commercial activity, nor for the promotion of any commercial business or services.
  • You can view all of your postings in the My Postings area of MyAngloINFO.  Unfortunately, postings can’t be edited or deleted once made.

Respectful Conduct Towards Other Members
  • Postings attacking or mocking other members, their comments, profile or postings are not accepted. Neither are postings concerning the Administration of the Discussions forum.
  • Please remember that your idea of what is funny or humorous may not be shared by your fellow members.
  • AngloINFO reserves the right to delete or modify postings if they are considered inappropriate. In most cases, the poster will receive a notification explaining the reasons for the moderation.
