  • Art Museum of Sao Paulo

    Fine-art museum located on Av. Paulista 1578. Free entry to everyone on Tuesdays, always free for children under 10 and adults over 60. Museum opens at 11:00.

    Neo-Gothic church with beautiful towers and stained glass windows in the Praca da se, Centro. Monday and Wednesday to Saturday 08:00-17:00, Sunday 08:30-18:00. Tour''s Monday and Wednesday to Saturday 09:30-16:30.

  • Cemiterio da Consolacao

    Sometimes referred to as the "museum of the open heavens" this cemetary in central Sao Paulo has magnificent sculptures in bronze and stone. Monday to Sunday 07:00-18:00. Entrance is Free. Rua da Consoloacao, 1660.

  • Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB)

  • Centro da Cultura Judaica (Cultural Jewish Center)

    Jewish history and culture in Brazil since 2003. Building also houses a theatre and art gallery. Occasional book fairs and lectures. Cafe serves local Jewish cuisine. Weekdays 10:00-21:00. Weekends 14:00-19:00. R. Oscar Freire 2500, Pinheiros.

  • Choque Cultural

    Commercial gallery presenting works of young Brazilian artists coming from graffiti, tattoo, graphic design, illustration and urban art styles. Two locations: Rua Joao Moura, 997, Pinheiros and Rua Medeiros de Albuquerque 25, Pinheiros.

  • Convento e Santuario Sao Francisco (Convent and Sanctuary of Saint Francisco)

    This impressive building is actually two churches, one run by Catholic clergy and the other by lay brothers. Well preserved Portuguese colonial building built in 1647. Open daily 07:30-20:00, entrance free. Largo Sao Francisco 133, Centro.

  • Edificio Altino Arantes (Altino Arantes building)

    The 36th floor of the BANESPA Building offers a panoramic view of Sao Paulo. Inaugurated in 1947 and modelled on the Empire State Building in New York. Weekdays 10:00-17:00, entrance is free, ID required. Rua Joao bricola 24, Centro. Metro: Sao Bento.

    Named after the Italian immigrants who helped with construction this impressive building offers spectacular views of the Sao Paulo skyline. Restaurant on the 41st floor provides varied menu. Tea 15:00-17:30. Avenida Ipiranga 334, Metro: Republica.

  • Edificio Martinelli (Martinelli Building)

    The first skyscraper built in Sao Paulo, in 1920 it was the tallest building in South America. In 1992 the building was classified a historic monument. Monday, Wednesday and Friday 09:00-10:00 and 14:30-15:30. Free, ID required. Av. Sao Joao, 35.

  • Estacao Pinacoteca

  • Fundacao Maria Luisa e Oscar Foundation

    Founded in 1974 by the Engineer Oscar Americano and now open to the public, historical Brazilian objects, tea room and shop. Tuesday to Friday 11:00-17:00, Saturday and Sunday 10:00-17:00.

  • Memorial da America Latina

  • Musea da Lingua Portuguesa (Museum of the Portuguese Language)
